Father David

Yesterday KS2 held a special worship to remember Father David.  Six children from each class read their memories of Father David; these showed the impact he had on our children and what they noticed about him.  They captured his smile, joy, care for us, love of God and his love of singing.  Yr.4 wanted to sing as Father David loved singing so much.  They performed a song to the tune of ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’ which told us about his character, the lyrics are below.  Their performance brought joy to the room.  Following this song, Bishop Trevor spoke to us encouraging us to remember the good times we had with Father David and to live our lives in the way he encouraged us to do, both through his words and his actions.  We had a soloist violin piece and the children also led us in a Bible reading from Psalm 23 and in prayers thanking God for the time we spent with Father David and asking God to take care of his family during this difficult time.  We were sent out with a special blessing from the Bishop.  We would like to thank all those parents who came to support the children with this worship and Bishop Trevor for supporting us as a school through this difficult time.
