On Friday, Yr.6 were fortunate enough to be able to attend a ‘School of Noise’ workshop at the Brewery Tap. The workshop used a wide variety of analogue and digital equipment to enable the children to explore the science of sound. They started by using their own bodies to compose original experimental sound art. The finished product was impressive! They then rotated around a wide variety of equipment including modular synthesisers, orchestras of fruit and vegetables, tuning forks and many other objects which showed how vibrations make the sounds which we hear. The workshop culminated with exploring Foley sounds, the children loved adding sound effects to film clips and were able to be amazingly accurate with their timing. Well done Yr.6 and thank you to all who provided such an excellent workshop!
