Yr.6 Gymnastics

Yesterday, Yr.6 started their topic on gymnastics.  They learnt several types of balances using different body parts.  They then worked in groups to create routines incorporating some of these balances into their routines and thinking about the group dynamics.  We have some really flexible and strong children as you can see from the photographs.

Yr.5 Gymnastics

Yr.5 looked at balances today in gymnastics; these included the V sit, shoulder stand, arabesque, T balance and Y balance.  They then worked in groups to create routines including some of these balances and some jumps and rolls on the apparatus.   Everyone had fun and created some brilliant routines.

Football in Owls

This morning we enjoyed a game of football in the playground coached by Harry. Everyone joined in and played very well. Owls are becoming very good at their sporting skills as well as playing very fair.

Boogie Bounce

Yesterday every class was fortunate enough to have a boogie bounce session.  This is a high-tempo exercise in which the children perform energetic manoeuvres whilst trampolining on their own individual trampoline.  To make it even harder they worked on keeping in time to the beat of the music.  It was great fun.
