Sport 2017 – 2018

Every child in our school took part in at least ten extra curricular sporting activities last year.  This included skiing, horse riding, archery, high ropes, kayaking, bellboating, trampolining and zorbing to name just a few.  See if you can spot your child in the highlights video below.  We have so many talented children.  

18 Mile Bike Ride

On Tuesday ten children from yr.6 took part in an eighteen mile bike ride.  It was perfect weather, with a gentle breeze keeping us cool.  The children showed amazing, skill and perseverance.  We easily reached Port Lympne where we were able to see one of the baby giraffes.  It was a great day.  Well done Continue reading

District Sports

Yesterday some children from yr.4 and Yr.6 entered District sports.  They took part in individual sprint races, relay races, 400m races, javelin and long jump.  Everyone represented us well.

Federation Sports KS1

On Monday we held our federation sports day.  Yr.R went to Christchurch, Yr.1 to St Mary’s and Yr.2 stayed at St Eanswythe’s.  each class was split into three teams where they competed against twelve teams from the other schools.  They took part in running, agility, javelin, target throw, balancing and long jump events.  At each event they Continue reading

Bushcraft – Yr.6

This morning Yr.6 had their bushcraft session.  They learnt and practised many new skills such as how to hang a hammock safely, how to split wood, how to lay fires and other basic survival skills.  Everyone had a great time.

KS2 Sports Day

This morning we had our KS2 Sports Day.  There were a multitude of races including egg and spoon, tray relay, relays, sack races, beanbag balance, golf, rugby and flat races.  Everyone worked really hard and persevered even if they weren’t winning.  The children raced in their houses and earned points for each race.  the overall Continue reading
