Kayaking club

Yesterday was the first session of kayaking club at Seapoint Canoe Centre.  Everyone had a great time, they learnt how to stop quickly; paddle in a straight line; turn in a circle and paddle backwards.  They then played some games using these skills.  Finally they rafted together and tried to run along the top of Continue reading

Olympic Roadshow

This week Years 4 and 5 were treated to an Olympic Roadshow, this gave the children the opportunity to join each other completing activities involving tennis, athletics, football and hockey. Everyone had a great time, thanks to all the coaches:- Ryan, Sam, David, Brian and Lisa.

Cricket Tournament

We entered three teams into a cricket tournament this morning at Hythe Cricket club.  Everyone played well and improved as the games progressed.  One of our teams has qualified for the Shepway finals which will be held next Wednesday.  Well done everyone.

2nd in Kent for Lacrosse!

On Friday our winning team from the Shepway Lacrosse Tournament played in the Kent finals.  The games were of a very high standard and were very competitive.  We  played really well, with some extremely close games.  We finished 2nd which is really impressive.  Well done everyone!

Tennis

This week Year 4 had a fantastic opportunity to complete a range of tennis activities at Hythe Tennis Club. The children practised skills in volleying,  rallies with and without bounces and ball control using forehand and backhand. Everyone improved  their playing and were supportive of each other, one of our seven teams won bronze medals.

Netball Finals

On Thursday, during the holidays, some dedicated sporting children went to the Shepway netball finals which they had qualified for the previous week!  There were six teams in the finals, everyone played well.  We won three of our five games putting us third overall.  Well done everyone and a special thank you to our stand Continue reading

Sponsored Walk

To round off a hard week of tests, Yr.6 spent the last Friday of term outside.  They did a sponsored walk to Seabrook and back which is a seven mile walk!  The weather was perfect, not too hot for walking but dry and sunny.  As you can see the children loved the freedom and had plenty Continue reading

Shepway Netball Competition

Yesterday, two teams from Yr.6 entered the Shepway netball competition at The Folkestone School for Girls.  Both teams played really well and won some of their matches.  The dark blues won all the games in their league qualifying for the semi finals.  They played well at this stage losing a close game 1-0 to Sandgate and Continue reading

Skiing Club

Some of years five and six have taken part in skiing club this term.  They have learnt how to walk up the slope sideways and how to control their speed as they come down the slope.  It has been great fun.
