Amy Fidge Sampler

This sampler was given to the school by a lady named Lucy Batchelor. It was from her Grandma’s house. Here is a copy of her letter to us.

It is thought that Amy Fidge was born in Folkestone in 1875. She lived at 2 Beach Street by Folkestone Harbour . Her father was a bootmaker .

In 1911 she was working in London as a dressmaker. She never married and she later returned to Folkestone. She died in Folkestone in 1962.
