Sacconi

We were fortunate enough to have a performance from the Sacconi Quartet yesterday.  The Sacconi Quartet is a UK-based classical music string quartet founded in 2001 by four graduates of the Royal College of Music, London, UK. The Quartet has achieved widespread recognition, having given recitals in leading British concert halls and at music festivals in Britain and across Europe. They have also won several major prizes in string quartet and chamber music competitions.

The children learnt about the different instruments within the quartet, were encouraged to listen out for certain parts within the music, sung together with the quartet learning Italian musical terms and were treated to a variety of pieces from different composers.

Yr 4 were able to perform to the Sacconi Quartet as they have also been learning to play the violin.  The violinists from Yr.1 and Yr.6 also played a piece for the Quartet.  What a privilege!
