Yr. 4 Kayaking

This afternoon the children had a great opportunity to do kayaking which fits in very well with our topic of transport. Once all the safety equipment was on, they learned how to handle the paddles, climb into the boats and stay safe in the water. Some children were in single person kayaks and others were in the bell boats. One group went for a long trip along Hythe Canal, they had races, played and had lots of fun splashing each other. The other group had a game of tag in the boats and played a team game with a ball. The kayaks seemed even heavier to carry after all that, especially when you are soaked.
