Owls’ First Week

It’s been lovely to welcome a new set of Owls into the class room and to see them settle in so well. We’ve had an exciting week starting to learn about our new topic Oceans. On Thursday we looked at the rhyming book “Commotion in the Ocean” and had a go at acting like some of the sea creatures in each stanza. We had angel fish who were proud and a little bit snooty, jumping dolphins and scampering crabs. We’ve been using cups in Maths Makes Sense to help with our addition maths stories and making shapes and measuring them with decimetre sticks. Finally, we started to predict and test what might float or sink.
