Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur – Yr.6

Today, during RE Yr.6 looked at the Jewish Festival Yom Kippur.  This festival follows  ten days after Rosh Hashanah. (The Jewish new year)  Yom Kippur is the most solemn day in the Jewish calendar where Jews consider their past year, look within themselves and ask for forgiveness for the wrong they have done.

Yr.6 looked at forgiveness using a colour changing experiment.  Each pair reflected on their own lives as they conducted the experiment and considered where they believe forgiveness comes from and the importance of both forgiving others and being forgiven.

The children then worked in groups to plan news reports about these festivals.  (Videos to follow once all have performed)
