This morning Yr.6 found that although some things don’t react with water they react with acids. They used vinegar and lemon juice to see if a chemical reaction was caused with marble chips, bicarbonate of soda or washing soda crystals. They found that the acids reacted with the carbonates creating carbon dioxide.
They then used this knowledge to make simple volcanoes. It was great fun.
