Yr 4 Friction
Today our Science lesson was about friction which is part of our focus on forces. We carried out an investigation which involved timing ourselves moving jelly cubes using chopsticks from one plate to another. Firstly we moved normal jelly cubes then they were covered in cooking oil which definitely cut down any friction.
During the lesson we considered how friction can be useful for the soles of shoes and for things like tyres. We also looked at how very low levels of friction can be good as well for things like bob sleighs, frying pans and drawer runners.
