Elephant toothpaste

After completing their topic test in science today, Yr.6 made elephant toothpaste. They caused hydrogen peroxide to break down into water and oxygen using yeast as a catalyst. They added washing up liquid and this, in the presence of oxygen caused foam to be produced on the scale of an elephant. Another chemical reaction which was irreversible!
