Shane Record

On Wednesday we were extremely lucky to be joined by local artist, Shane Record. We witnessed an original painting being created, whilst learning about Shane’s career and some of his techniques. We watched in awe as a landscape of Folkestone emerged from the starting point of different shades of blue. Members of art club also assisted in the creation of “Folkestone Dream” (named by one of our pupils, Anna Gerbino).

Shane told us how he became an artist and how he had to persevere to follow his dream as he talked about the need to keep working on something – even if you think it’s no good.

Thank you Shane for a truly enjoyable morning for the whole school…and our very own original masterpiece.
