2nd in Plate Competition at National Finals for Lacrosse!

For the second year running St Eanswythe’s qualified for the National Finals in lacrosse.  These were held yesterday in Sheffield, therefore we travelled up on Saturday.  The children enjoyed a dinner at Table Table and then visited a trampoline park called Jump Inc. This had some tricky sections like mastering the wall and leaping from a high platform.  Following this they checked into their hotel rooms, the children were particularly impressed with the wall lights which they could control from their beds!

A Mcdonalds breakfast set them up for the day of intense, fast paced games of lacrosse. The qualifying teams were split into four leagues where each team played each other in a round robin format.  We played amazingly well and managed to finish in third position in our league.  This put us into the plate competition, at this stage the games were knockout.  Facing some fierce competition we won both our quarter finals and semi finals.  We lost in the finals to an amazing team finishing 2nd in the plate and winning silver medals.  What an amazing achievement!  This equates to 8th out of the thousands of schools in the UK.  The children were amazing as always and made us proud to be with them.
