Cluck the chicken came to visit Year 4 today as part of our ‘flying’ topic. We learned about how and why chickens fly and looked at its wings closely. We now understand the differences between the types of feathers they have as well as how and why wings are sometimes clipped, even having a go at wing clipping ourselves. The children asked very sensible questions about egg laying, habitats, predators and what to feed a chicken. A big thank you to Mrs Paterson for bringing Cluck into school for us.
