Year 3 discover Roman Canterbury

Year 3 had a fantastic day exploring the secrets of Roman Canterbury.

Did you know there is a Roman theatre underneath Canterbury High Street and ancient baths underneath a modern bookshop? We learnt all about these buildings and lots more at the brilliant Roman Museum in Canterbury. We made mosaics next to the site of a real Roman villa. We practised our archaeologist skills by exploring every day objects found in real Roman excavation sites,  and some of us even got to dress up!

Everyone had a great day and learnt lots of new things- and will now walk along Canterbury high street knowing there is a whole city buried under our feet.
