Series and Parallel Circuits

Yr.6 have been learning about series and parallel circuits and their uses.  Today they used their knowledge of parallel circuits to build a working set of traffic lights and used Beebots to test them out.  Most groups were successful but we can’t promise that no Beebots jumped a red light!

Cross Country

Yesterday twenty children from years five and six entered a cross country competition at Dymchurch Primary School.  They had to pace themselves over a 1600m distance.  Everyone did really well, completing the race and showing great determination and perseverance.  A special well done goes to Kit who was the overall winner in the Yr.6 boys Continue reading

Modelling Clay: making seals

Year 6 have been learning about the Indus Valley Civilisation in their history topic work this term.  The Indus Valley people lived almost 5,000 years ago, but disappeared and remained forgotten until more recent times.  We know about them from the artefacts they left behind, especially from the picture signs or seals that they made. Eagles’ Autumn Treasure Hunt

This afternoon Year 4 went for a visit to our local Mosque. While we were there, we learnt more about the five Pillars of Islam.
