Christmas Crafts in Year 1
This term, as Christmas approached Year 1 got creative. The children made some beautiful festive decorations, cards and some sweets and crackers with our Year 3 reading buddies. Merry Christmas!

Following our visit to another local home for the older generation to do carol singing, we decided to make each resident living there a Christmas card. Everyone in year 4 selected a resident by name to make a card for.
This term our independent learning topic was ‘Christmas.’ The children chose to create or research something today with Christmas in small groups or as individuals. Yesterday the winners from each class were celebrated in worship, the work ranged from stories and crafts to PowerPoints and games involving sweets! Well done everyone!
This term we have seen some amazing pieces of work based on Christmas, children have been making cards, writing stories and acrostic poems, working out the volume of presents and costing the buying of presents for loved ones. This morning most of the school went to watch ‘Once Upon a Snowflake’ at the Quarterhouse. It was a fantastic, wintery show with amazing musical and special effects. This afternoon KS2 celebrated Christmas with a party. They played pass the parcel, chocolate sixes, over under, pass the hoop, jam on the nose, musical corners, musical bumps and musical newspaper. The afternoon was finished with party food. It was a lovely afternoon.
This morning the worship leaders led us in prayers, songs and Bible readings. They reminded us of the Christmas story through the eyes of the shepherds.
Social Club enjoyed playing table tennis last night alongside other Christmas activities. You can see how much they enjoyed it from the photos.
This morning we took the whole school to see Abominable at the Silver Screen Cinema, the film was very enjoyable and behaviour was brilliant.
