Europe Day!

What a fantastic day we have all had! Today we had the company of some iconic European characters including Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn and even Van Gough himself! We started the day off with some excellent poetry and a great art lesson where we explored the work of Monet and used his ‘impressionist’ style to recreate his famous picture ‘The Bridge over a Pond of Waterlillies’. The children then worked together and used team building skills to make European landmarks made from spaghetti and marshmallows. This was not easy but the children used perseverance and determination to get some fantastic results! Who knew you could make the Eiffel  Tower from spaghetti? We finished the day off with a food tasting session where the children tried various different foods from around Europe aswell as a Spanish dance class!  A huge thankyou to all the parents for the fabulous costumes- they looked amazing!
