During the Autumn term, year 6 will be covering the following topics:
Numeracy: Place value, ordering and rounding, multiplication and division, fractions, decimals and percentages and measure.
Literacy: Myths and legends, fiction, explanatory texts and reading comprehension techniques
Science: Micro-organisms: What micro-organisms are; how micro-organisms can be both helpful and harmful and how to prevent micro-organisms from spreading.
Electrical Circuits: Investigations into how to change circuits, standard symbols, conductors and insulators.
History: Ancient Greece
ICT: Using the internet
PE: Football, Rounders and Swimming
DT: Moving Monsters – pneumatics
PSHE: Rules, group work and ‘the ideal school’
Children will be given regular homework. Spelling homework will also be given weekly, please encourage your children to read regularly and to play word games as this is beneficial to so many areas of the curriculum.
