Romans in Class 3!

This week we have dressed up as Romans to celebrate all the things we have learned about this time in our history.  We had various historical figures arrive at school, including Emperor Caesar, King of the Gods – Jupiter, Queen of the Iceni – Boudicca and various soldiers, Celtic warriors and slaves!

We studied some artefacts, from The Roman Villa,  that once stood above The Warren in Folkestone and made some amazing observational drawings!

In the afternoon we had a Roman style feast with flat breads, olives, dates and figs.  The children all tried the food on offer, with mixed reviews!
A very big ‘thank you’ to all parents who encouraged their children to dress up for the day and also to those who added to our feast with delicious foods.  It was much appreciated by all!
