Dear Parent/ Carer,
This term is going to be a fun filled final term for Year 6!
In Literacy we will be reading the book ‘Wonder’ by R.J Palacio. We will be exploring the themes and messages in this book and thinking about how we can use these messages in the transition to secondary school.
Numeracy this term will be recapping previous topics taught making sure the children have a secure understanding. This will include: decimals, fractions and percentages. We will also be focusing on problem solving skills.
Our Science topic is life cycles and plants. We are patiently waiting for our butterflies to arrive! We will be thinking about how plants reproduce and be able to identify different parts of a flowering plant.
Our RE topic this term is Humanism. We will be exploring the core beliefs of a humanist and compare this to other religions we have covered.
Our topic is India. We will be basing art around this as well. We will look at Indian culture, food and landmarks as well as focusing on the Indus Valley Civilization.
We will be continuing our ICT topic of coding.
PE this term will be rounders and kwik cricket. We have planned some PE afternoons at Radnor Park where there is more space. Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school at all times.
We have lots of fun activities planned for the children now that Covid-19 restrictions are easing and we will endeavour to make it an exciting final term for your children.
Thank you for your continued support.
Miss Laws and Miss Landy
