What a fantastic day Year 6 have had! We set off at around 9am and were rock pooling at the beach by 9:30. The fog was so thick we couldn’t even see the sea from the Leas! The tide was out far enough for the children to search for treasures in the rocks. They were lucky enough to find a couple of crabs. We continued our walk right down into Sandgate along the sea wall- this was when it started to rain! The children powered on and ended up at the final destination, The Play Park in Seabrook. The children played happily despite the weather! We began our walk home- the pace was little slower this time round! We stopped and ate lunch at the Mermaid beach before visiting the Coastal park- the children still had the energy for this! We finished our day by having a slow walk back up the zig- zag path and even had time to visit the new piece of artwork in Folkestone- ‘I Am Argonaut’ which is placed opposite the statue of William Harvey just opposite the leas.
It was a fantastic day and the children did so well, despite the showers. I would like to thank you for all the generous sponsors- it will be greatly appreciated by the A.C.K St Paul’s Academy in Kenya.
