I hope you have had a restful summer and are now ready to start the new school year. We will be covering the following:
Literacy- We will be looking at a variety of Greek myths and becoming familiar with the Greek god/goddesses. Our class novel is ‘Who Let The God’s Out’ by Maz Evans.
Maths– We will be looking at multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and rounding numbers. We will be assessing any gaps that the children may have endured due to restrictions last year.
Science– Our science topics this term are electricity and micro-organisms.
RE– Our topic this term is Creation. Our big question is ‘Creation and Science- conflicting or complementary?’
Topic– Our topic this term is Ancient Greece.
Art/DT– Art will based around our Ancient Greece topic. The children will be creating a Greek vase using a scratch and reveal technique.
Computing– We will be looking at coding and using a variety of coding programmes.
PSHE– We will be looking at health and well being.
PE– Our PE lessons will take place on Thursdays and Fridays. Our focus will be football and lacrosse.
Homework– A homework grid will be sent home with your child and they are to complete one piece from the grid per week. They will also receive spellings homework where they are to learn the spellings for the week. You child is expected to read for 15 minutes every evening.
