This week Ducklings and Year 5 had a creative morning and decorated some festive biscuits! They used lots of icing, sweets and decorations to make their biscuit super tasty. It was such a lovely way to end the festive term!
This week we have been extra festive! The children have made reindeer cards, using their hand prints. Social club have also made Christmas patterns whilst sewing. On Wednesday the children met up with their buddies to celebrate Christmas together by engaging in lots of crafty activities. The Year 6s were very polite and caring towards their buddies and helped them complete a range of activities. The activities consisted of baubles, salt dough, wordsearches, Christmas cards and designing a Christmas jumper.
In Science the children tested out the absorbency of five different tissues. They used special equipment consisting of plastic cups, rubber bands and pipettes! In pairs they tested the absorbency by seeing if the tissue could hold 20 drops of water, if it did they gave it a big tick!
Yesterday, year 4 had a spontaneous trip down to the art studio. While we were there, we investigated mark making with various mediums and made our own drawing tools. Yesterday years 4 and 2 spent the afternoon together painting beautiful Christmas baubles and stars to be hung on their Christmas trees at home. The children worked very well together and it was a lovely Christmassy afternoon.
KS1 had a great Christmas party! The children enjoyed eating lots of party food and played many games. We also had two special guests……Santa and Mrs Claus! All the children got to meet Santa and received a special present from him. Thank you to everyone for sending in party food.
