Nutritional Cooking

On our first day back Year 3 have been busy in the kitchen. Today we celebrated our learning from last term, in Science, by creating a well-balanced nutritional meal. We have created a hearty vegetable and lentil soup, bread rolls and a fruit smoothie. We had great fun reading the recipes and then learning about which ingredients we would be using and linking it to the different food groups. We also had a bonus activity of learning about yeast and watching it bubble and froth when we made the bread dough. All of the children were involved in different parts of each recipe and as you can see from the pictures, there are some future chefs in the making, so make sure they replicate these recipes at home. We will be sampling our cooking tomorrow, so hopefully the children will all be raving about what they have created.
