Charcoal Art

Today we explored tone, pattern and shape using charcoal. We looked at an image of St Paul’s Cathedral, as it would have looked like before it was destroyed by The Great Fire of London. We discussed why the destruction of this building would have caused great distress for the people of London. We then discussed the shapes and patterns we could see on the building. The children were able to choose their own groups, they divided the image of the cathedral into six sections. Each child recreated their own section and then the children joined their art together. Well done everyone!
