Creative Skateboarding Afternoon
Today the whole school took part in a creative skateboarding afternoon! This was split into two parts. The first part of the afternoon was in class with each class creating a design for a skateboard deck. The design is in memory of and to celebrate Miss Laws. The winning designs will be put together and made into a real skateboard, this will hang in the new skate park in Folkestone. For the second part of the afternoon we were lucky enough to have Will and Simon, experienced skateboarders, come into school and run skateboarding workshops. We learnt all about the history of skateboarding, the board and then got to watch them perform some cool tricks on the playground. Some children were lucky enough to have a go at some mini tricks and riding on the board. The afternoon was great fun and it seems we have some natural skateboarders among us!
