Eagles Become Curators At Folkestone Museum

On Tuesday afternoon Eagles class visited Folkestone Museum. https://folkestonemuseum.co.uk/

We were invited to take part in a pilot workshop which allows children to become curators at the museum and design and fill one of the display cases at the museum with items that link to our class topic ‘The Seaside’. The children had a look around the museum and got to choose their favourite piece and sketch it, we returned to the education room and discussed the pieces we liked and then made clay models of the things we would like to see in the museum they were fantastic! Then we were able to work in groups and start to play and design our own display case on paper. We drew some pictures and labelled the things we wanted to be retrieved from the archives and added to the case. We are going to be going back again a couple of times before the end of term to choose all of the display pieces and then finally we will get to go and see our completed display.
