PSHE – Emotions

This term in Year 3 we are exploring ‘All About Me’ and today we looked at emotions that we feel. We discussed the names of different emotions and thought really carefully about what those emotions may look like and feel like, this was much trickier than we first thought. The children talked in a safe space about what different emotions feel like and Mrs Purver shared how her emotions felt to her, some of the time it was the same and occasionally it was different. We learnt that it is ok to have emotions and that they might feel overwhelming at times. We spoke about how we should share these emotions with adults we trust and that this can help others understand how we feel. We will explore this further when we think about how we can empathise with others and help them with their emotions. Today we finished our session with a game of ‘Guess the Emotion’. Using our facial and body language we were given an emotion to show. Can you guess which group is showing: happy, sad, scared, excited and angry?
