Waterproof Materials in Year 1
This week in Science we have been learning about waterproof and non-waterproof materials. Owls needed to help daddy bear get across the river to his family by finding out which materials are waterproof. Before they began their investigation, they each predicted which material they thought would be the best and which would be the the worst. Owls worked in pairs and experimented with their own daddy bear and six different materials: cotton wool, foil, tissue, paper, fabric and a plastic bag. They recorded their findings on a table and identified the best and worst materials for daddy bear. Finally, as a class we compared the results with our predictions, we were spot on!
