Sculptures and Maquettes

This term in year 6 the children will be studying sculpture, taking inspiration from the Terracotta Army. After researching facts about the world famous sculpture the children created cardboard maquettes of their own ideas for a sculpture. The children learnt that a maquette is a sculptor’s small preliminary model and that it allows them to visualise how it might look. These were really quick to create and a lot of fun.
