Embracing Our Differences
Today in PSHE, we discussed an important topic about being different, with a focus on physical differences. We talked about the ways we are different from one another, including, eye colour, skin colour and hair colour. After we all spoke about whether it is okay to still be friends with someone even though they are different or if they don’t like the same things as you. All of the children agreed that it is important to be kind to everyone and that our differences do not matter.
Afterwards, our discussion moved on to how we are all the same on the inside. We spoke about how we all have the same feelings, if something good happens we feel happy. If something bad happens we feel sad.
Finally we compared two eggs. We spoke about their differences, the colour, shape and size. The children agreed the eggs can still be friends even though they look different. After the children cracked them open and we decided that we, as humans, are similar to eggs because we all look different on the outside but on the inside we are the same and have the same feelings.
