Years 5 & 6 Netball

Yesterday some of our years 5 & 6 children took part in a Netball tournament held at The Folkstone Grammar school for girls. This was the first time for some of the children at a tournament. Ducklings Gym Movements

This week Ducklings took part in a some gym movements with Venture Sports.  First we did some warm up movements moving our heads, necks and shoulders then we listened to how we had to move around the hall being an animal. Spiral Snakes

Ducklings have been looking at shapes in our environment. We looked at different snakes and shared our knowledge and understanding of their features. Numeracy

We have been learning about higher numbers and how to record them. We focused on numbers from 11 to 20 and enjoyed activities where we could expand our understanding of how they could be created.

Capital Letters

Ducklings have been looking at capital letters this week. We recognised that we all have them at the beginning of our names and how they look different from lower case letters. Next we used a varied range of capital letter resources to find ways we could create our names.  

Freestyle Football Skills

Today Ducklings enjoyed learning some new freestyle football skills. Jamie, the instructor, showed us how to use the ball in different ways to create tricks we had never performed before. We all had a chance to practise these skills and then demonstrate what we had learnt to the class.

Choosing Time

During choosing time the Ducklings enjoy selecting their own free choice of items and people to play and independently learn with. While the sun was shining, we used the outside area to spread out and engaged in sand play, hot wheels and the garage, Lego building, drawing and using the climbing equipment to practise our Continue reading
