Ducklings in the Stable

Nativity colouring competition

This week all of the Ducklings took part in a colouring competition. The children all coloured in a nativity scene, taking their time and trying to colour inside the lines. These where then judged by a member of the SLT. We enjoyed some festive fun while working on our fine motor skills.

Ducklings’ Hindu Week

This week we joined the whole school in the RE focus week. We have learnt all about Hinduism and Diwali, the festival of light. The children learnt about and created their own diva pots. St Eanswythes’ go Hoop Hopping Crazy!

  This term the whole school took part in our term one intra sports competition. The children had to race against the clock, hopping through hula hoops as many times as they could in twenty seconds.  We had some fantastic results and saw some great sportsmanship. Elmer fun in Ducklings!

This week we have been learning all about Elmer the elephant. We have read the story, acted it out and discussed and answered questions around the story. Gymnastics Club

Today we had our first gymnastics club. We learnt the safety rules and the names of equipment used such as the vault and springboard. We practiced pencil rolls and forward rolls, balanced on the benches and jumped off the vault landing onto the crash mat. 

The Ducklings’ first week together

This week we have been busy getting to know each other. We have been writing our names, using scissors, exploring the pond, learning to share and working together, taking part in PE in the hall, visiting the computer suite  learning the school rules.
