This week we have been learning about the Hindu faith. We learnt about the different gods and goddesses and heard the story of Rama and Sita. We based our drama around this story and also learnt about Diwali. The children made their own masks so they could get into character!

We have been learning about faith and what it means this week. We have read the story of Abraham and Sarah and used freeze framing to explore Abraham’s faith in God.
As part of our learning about ‘Rocks and Soils’, we have been testing how permeable different soils are. We collected samples of soil from different places and the children brought some samples from their own gardens. It was messy but fun with everyone in each group having a role.
Please take a look at the creative homework projects that my class have produced this term. Mrs Crockford and I have been wowed by the range of models and art work that the children have created. A big ‘thank you’ to all adult helpers at home – your support is amazing!
The theme this term is: Folkestone. We went on a walk to the harbour and then on to The Leas, taking in many of Folkestone’s landmarks along the way. The children are now busy working on various projects, which some will present to the rest of the school.
We are learning to write explanation texts this week and it is going well! We have thought about all the features of these texts and before we started writing we looked at our writing targets.
