Today a new group of Year 6s went to Pelham House to read to the residents. The pupils really enjoyed reading to the residents and the residents enjoyed being read to. Tiki had a really good time as she loves everyone there and everyone is always so pleased to see her.
Today we awarded our first lot of kindness certificates. As part of our 40 acts of generosity for Lent these children wrote super lists telling us what they were grateful for. These can be seen on an earlier blog.
On Monday we were invited to a pre-performance show at the Quarterhouse with Christchurch. This is being performed for the public in April, so we were very lucky to be part of it before anyone else! This week we started our forty day challenge for Lent. We have made a brilliant start and have had several children send us evidence of them doing some of the challenges. Here are our current favourites. We look forward to seeing what everybody does next week.
Lunch today was extra special as all of Year 4 went to Luben’s for pizza. Over the last two days Year 4 have made visits to Tudor Lodge to read and chat to the residents. They were pleased to see us and enjoyed spending time with the children.
Today Ducklings headed to Pelham House to share their reading books with the residents. As their books were shorter they managed to swap several times and therefore every resident heard several stories. Well done Ducklings, you were amazing!
On Monday Year 4 held the film night that they have been organising in their independent learning sessions to raise money for the Big School Bus Project. This morning it was Yr.1’s turn to read at Pelham House. They enjoyed sharing their books with the residents and talking about them. They were also able to look at the fish.
Today Yr.6 had a real treat! They all headed to Leuben’s where they learnt all about pizza making. It was really interesting, we looked at how the yeast is actually created and cultured. They discussed respiration and the formation of carbon dioxide and then saw how the dough is formed and turned into pizza based. … Continue reading
