This week Owls have been making Christmas treats. We used icing and added food colouring and peppermint essence before mixing and shaping into festive shapes. We got a bit messy but had lots of fun!
Although it is not up yet, Owls have been getting into the Christmas spirit early and preparing our class Christmas tree. We drew then cut around our hands before decorating them. Following our walk round Folkestone to look at the plinths, we made our own. We used some modelling clay to make something to display on our plinths then decorated both our model and plinth. They are currently on display in our classroom and look amazing!
The theme this term is: Folkestone. We went on a walk to the harbour and then on to The Leas, taking in many of Folkestone’s landmarks along the way. The children are now busy working on various projects, which some will present to the rest of the school.
On Wednesday, Owls went for an autumnal stroll with Tiki around the graveyard noticing seasonal changes and looking for things we find in autumn. We found lots of conkers and fallen leaves amongst other autumnal things.
We have managed to get through so much already in these last 2 weeks, as you can see from the pictures. In Maths we have been revisiting place value and partitioning numbers.
