Fuzzy Mud – Video Diaries

To help us empathise with one of the main characters – Marshall – in our class book, we made video diaries.  These diaries explained why Marshall acted the way he did and how it was affecting him.  They were so good that we wanted to share some of them with you.  

Painting Shells

In ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’, Michael and Kensuke use octopus ink to paint on shells. Yr.6 tried to replicate this using ink and very fine brushes to paint creatures from the story onto shells. They found it to be quite tricky but created some excellent designs.

Wingham Trip

To finish off their work on Kensuke’s Kingdom and as part of their Science work on adaptation Yr.6 headed to Wingham today. They had an amazing time seeing a wide range of animals and participating in talks about orangutans, gibbons, red pandas, tigers, penguins, lemurs and chimpanzees. Fairtrade in Class 3

As part of our Rainforest topic this term we have been learning about the Fairtrade organisation.  We made a visit to our local Asda store to compare the prices of Fairtrade products with other brands.  We made some interesting discoveries and even asked some shoppers their views!

Y5 Poetry Workshop

Today, Class 5 were visited by Tanya and Emily from Folkestone Creative. We read and listened to a number of poems by Yoko Ono focusing around the theme ‘Earth Peace’.
