It was Yr.4’s turn to read at Pelham House today. The children enjoyed sharing their books with the residents and chatting to them, learning about their lives. They represented our school really well and brought cheer to the residents who were really pleased to see them.
Yesterday Year 1 went to visit Folkestone museum to look at the ancient artefacts they have. We were lucky enough to see a real woolly mammoth tooth that was found in Radnor Park!
We have been learning about the climate in a rainforest and how different it is from the climate in the UK. The children produced a weather report from rainforests around the world and presented them to the class in the style of a TV reporter.
In Literacy this morning Yr.6 used dramatical techniques to help them empathise with the characters in a short story by Michael Morpurgo. They travelled down conscience corridors helping each other to make decisions by giving the pros and cons and answered questions in role.
This morning twelve children from Yr.6 headed to Pelham House Care Home to spend time with and read to some of the residents. Yr.6 shared their Michael Morpurgo books and chatted about the stories. The session was enjoyed by the residents and the children. Tiki was a popular visitor too!

This morning most of the school went to watch ‘Once Upon a Snowflake’ at the Quarterhouse. It was a fantastic, wintery show with amazing musical and special effects.
