This morning twelve children from Yr.6 headed to Pelham House Care Home to spend time with and read to some of the residents. Yr.6 shared their Michael Morpurgo books and chatted about the stories. The session was enjoyed by the residents and the children. Tiki was a popular visitor too!

On Friday, the second half of Class 5 enjoyed a wonderful morning at Minnis Moor Stables. The pupils took part in taster riding lessons and took turns to ride in a small horse carriage. In the film adaptation of the book ‘War Horse’ there are some stunning sunset scenes with silhouettes of the horses. Today Yr.6 creates their own sunsets using a water colour wash and added silhouettes to these. We’re sure you’ll agree that they have created some beautiful scenes.

After finishing studying the book version of War Horse, Yr.6 watched the film this morning. They then held a debate discussing which version was better. They were very passionate and had very good reasons for their opinions.
