In worship today the Year 6 leaders awarded the swim team from the recent gala at Folkestone Sports Centre, certificates and medals. The team as a whole came second out of nine teams, well done to all of our swim team, you deserve your silver medals.
This afternoon Year 4 enjoyed their second session of cricket. They improved their underarm and over arm bowling and batting skills before enjoying a fun game.
Yr.6 headed to Seapoint Canoe Centre today to participate in The Bellboat Challenge. They worked in teams of ten to race their craft up the canal. Yesterday Yr.6 ran a sporting event for Duckings. The children worked in teams of five or six and rotated round different stations involving running, jumping, throwing and agility activities. Everyone did really well. Yr 6’s were great leaders and were very encouraging to their teams.
After a picnic lunch at Radnor park all of KS2 headed to The Three Hills for Sports Day. Every child took part in several events ranging from novelty races to relays and flat running races. Yr.6 headed to Radnor Park to sail their Viking Ships today. Each ship took part in knock out races with their teams pulling them across the lake. Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in a cricket workshop today. The cricket coach played some warm up games to begin with, which involved team work and some finger and hand dexterity in readiness for throwing and catching. The children enjoyed all the activities and behaved very well.
This evening after school, children from Years 4, 5 and 6 went to a rugby tournament. Although many of our team were new to the game, with the help of some last minute coaching from Miss Laws, Mr Rogers and Mr Asbury, we starting picking up the concepts and improved hugely during the matches.
