Today we carried out two mode of transport surveys in Folkestone. The first was about road traffic including cars, lorries, buses, bicycles, taxis and more. The other survey involved us counting the boats, ships and aeroplanes we saw in a set amount of time.
Today Eagles went to Hastings, although the weather was a bit grim we had a fab time. We visited the Aquarium and we got to see Archer Fish being fed which was really cool. Our new topic is the Rainforest and we are learning lots….even the teachers! Today we were using pastels to create a background for the Rainforest that we are creating in our class.
Yr. 6 planned and made a start on designing Viking longships today. They looked at different methods of strengthening joins, safe practices for sawing and considered how to make their boats strong and durable. They have made good headway and the boats are beginning to take shape as you can see below.
