PSHE
“PSHE Education is a planned, developmental programme of learning through which pupils acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future. As part of a whole-school approach, PSHE Education develops the qualities and attributes pupils need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society. PSHE Education equips pupils to live healthy, safe, productive, capable, responsible and balanced lives”
(PSHE Association 2017)
At St Eanswythe’s Primary School, Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is central to our Christian Ethos, it supports our children with their emotional, physical and social development and it underpins learning in our classrooms and throughout our school community. PSHE contributes to the development of the children’s individual identity and their sense of self-esteem. It gives our pupils direction in life and develops their decision making skills. As pupils mature it reinforces and supports their emotional development. At St Eanswythe’s we believe that where self-esteem is higher, academic learning and all aspects of life become easier, therefore allowing our pupils to thrive both in our school community and their everyday lives.
