Science
At St Eanswythe’s we believe that all children should take part in exciting and stimulating science lessons. We aim to inspire children to ask questions and have the opportunity, through science lessons, to develop a sense of curiosity about the world around us. We teach a range of skills, appropriate to age and understanding, to help them do this. Most importantly, we understand the need for children to build on their own knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts.
We use the Kent Scheme of Work (developed by many teachers from Kent and led by Andrew Berry, science lead for Kent schools for many years) This excellent scheme enables us to ensure that children are taught in a sequential and progressive way, building confidence and independence in this important area of the curriculum. Most of all we want to inspire them to have fun learning whilst exploring and investigating!
