Our topic this term is Light and Shadow and so we have started to look at items that are Transparent, Translucent and Opaque. The task was to see how transparent different materials are using a torch. The question being, ‘If the light source gets through the material in question, is it still classed as transparent?’ This was a tricky one as you cannot see through a tissue, but the torch shone through it easily!

As the weather was so hot on the day 3 & 4 were due to go to Legoland we had a fun day in school instead. To start the day we had paper aeroplane competitions to see whose team could assemble a plane that would fly the furthest and another that would stay in the air the longest. Everybody worked so brilliantly in a team. The main attraction though was the water fight, where everyone enjoyed cooling down. A great day was had and we all want to do it again!

Yesterday we had a chance to experience a forty minute Zumba class. It was very fast but so much fun. Everyone was listening carefully to the next instruction as you can see by the expressions on some of their faces. By the end we had some very sweaty children!
