London Aquarium
Year 1 and Year 2 had a fantastic day on their trip to the London Aquarium. We travelled to London by coach and, after arriving, enjoyed a walk past some of London's most famous landmarks, including the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. Year 1 Science – Exploring Summer Through Art
This term, Year 1 have been learning about the seasons as part of our science topic, focusing on the signs of summer. As part of our learning, we looked at Vincent van Gogh's Cypresses. We talked about the colours, shapes and features we could see in the painting and discussed how it reminded us of the summer season, with its bright sky, green trees and warm landscape. Challah Bread Making and Celebrating Shabbat
This term, Year 1 enjoyed a hands-on RE lesson as we learned about challah bread and why it is important in the Jewish faith. We worked together to add and mix the ingredients to make our own challah dough. However, there was a twist! We left out one secret ingredient and challenged the children to work out what was missing. After lots of thoughtful guesses, we revealed that the missing ingredient was sugar.
