What a wonderful first week we have had in Ducklings!

Our new Ducklings arrived full of excitement, and we have been so impressed by how confidently they have settled into their new classroom. We began the week with half days, welcoming our older children in the mornings before our younger Ducklings joined us in the afternoons. It has been lovely to see their confidence grow each day, and we have been especially proud of how keen everyone has been to come into school!

This week has been all about getting to know our classroom, making new friends and learning some of our important school routines. The children have enjoyed exploring all of the different areas and discovering the resources available to them. We have practised sitting together on the carpet for our register, learning how to line up and move around school safely, and getting ready to go home at the end of the day.

There have already been some lovely friendships beginning to blossom too. It has been wonderful to watch the children play alongside one another, share resources and begin to find their new friends.

The children have particularly loved spending time outside, especially when the weather has been kind to us. The bikes have been a big favourite, as well as climbing on the climbing frames and whizzing down the slide. There has been lots of exploring, playing and discovering happening in our outdoor area!

We have also enjoyed some creative time, including painting, and have shared lots of lovely stories together. On Friday, some of our Ducklings even had their very first PE lesson, which was very exciting!

To finish our first week, the children took home a little pack containing some of the things they have made and done during their first few days at school. We hope their grown-ups enjoyed looking through their first little pieces of Ducklings learning as much as we have enjoyed watching them settle in.

What an amazing start, Ducklings. We are so proud of you already and can't wait to see what adventures next week brings!
