Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It is designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers. Pupil Premium pupils are monitored closely and we utilise the funding to ensure high quality provision to suit individual requirements.
Provision for 2026-2027
30.4% of pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium and we expect to receive £86,000 in funding. Our provision will include:
- Consistent academic challenge for our Pupil Premium pupils to close attainment gaps in maths and reading.
- Embedded curriculum support alongside evidence-based interventions.
- Prioritised 1:1 and small group maths tuition, alongside daily ‘Fast Track’ phonics sessions for early readers.
- Specialised support using Speechlink and Language Through Colour to overcome communication barriers.
- Expert care led by our Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, incorporating sensory circuits and peer mentoring.
- Structured support to remove emotional barriers to classroom learning.
- Robust partnerships with our SENCo to implement personalised strategies for pupils with dual SEND and disadvantaged status.
- Close family liaison work and early interventions to reduce persistent absence.
- Targeted transition initiatives, including our successful ‘soft landing’ breakfast group.
Provision for 2025-2026
28.4% of pupils were eligible for Pupil Premium and we received £92,765 in funding for the year. Our provision included:
- A whole-school commitment to raising expectations and accelerating academic progress across the curriculum.
- Additional classroom support in key phases alongside targeted professional development for core subject delivery.
- Individual and small group tutoring sessions, including school-led tutoring.
- Consistent, high-frequency Read Write Inc sessions delivered by a dedicated lead teacher.
- Structured language, vocabulary, and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) provisions, including Language Through Colour, Nessy, and Speechlink.
- Targeted emotional support, self-esteem building, and pastoral check-ins managed by our expert Mental Health Lead.
- A dedicated nurture programme designed to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of vulnerable pupils.
- Early identification of barriers and personalised learning support coordinated in partnership with the SENCo.
- Active engagement by our Family Liaison Officer and Senior Leadership Team to support families and remove barriers to learning.
- Implementation of targeted procedures and monitoring to reduce persistent absence and improve attendance figures.
