Tuesday 26th March marked an extraordinary day at St Eanswythe’s School, where creativity and unity flourished during our House Creative Day! The entire school, both children and adults alike, joined forces as each house - St Mary’s, St Eanswythe’s, St Augustine’s, and St Michael’s - unleashed their imagination and talent to define their unique house identities.
The day kicked off with excitement as children of all ages and classes collaborated on crafting straplines or house mottos, designing shields and flags, and preparing presentations.
At the end of the day, the school gathered together to witness the fruits of their labour. The school hall was filled with anticipation as each house took the stage to showcase their efforts. St Augustine’s house set the bar high with their confident speeches and captivating performance, embodying their strapline: "Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe."
St Eanswythe’s followed suit, proudly displaying their meticulously crafted crowns and banners, impressing us with their strapline being in both English and Latin.
Next up was St Mary’s house, who wowed the audience with their innovative use of technology, including a captivating video presentation using green screen. Their house song and dance performance left everyone in awe as they expressed their strapline: "Expressing ourselves through our mother Mary’s guidance, love and light."
Finally, St Michael’s house took the stage, delivering a presentation on the symbolism behind their flag and shield, accompanied by their house song they had written and practised. Their strapline, "Step into St Michael's House where wisdom whispers, strength soars, protection and power surround you," resonated with their message of strength and unity.
After careful deliberation, Mrs. Jacobs, our impartial judge, declared St Michael’s house the winner, much to their delight.
But beyond the competition, the true highlight of the day was the impeccable behavior and teamwork displayed by all the children, regardless of age or house affiliation. It was a testament to the strong sense of community that thrives within our school walls.
As promised, we've included photos and videos of the day's highlights, including St Mary’s amazing green screen presentation and performances. Take a look below to relive the magic of our House Creative Day!
A huge thank you to all the children for their enthusiasm and cooperation, and to all staff for their hard work in planning and executing this unforgettable
event.
