Light Up Boxes

This term, Year 6 have been busy creating light up boxes as part of their 'Brave with Colour' theme, and the results have been wonderful. Through this project, pupils explored how colour affects us emotionally and how we react to different colours. They were encouraged to ask big questions such as: How can we create colourful experiences? How do they make us feel? How might we connect to others through colour?

We also discussed how artists use colour, light and form to create immersive environments that can transform how an audience feels when they step inside or view an artwork. The children were encouraged to be bold and inventive with their colour choices.

Throughout the process, pupils tested ideas, problem-solved and used their imaginations to bring their group visions to life, working with both 2D designs and 3D models. It has been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they shared their creative ideas with others and took brave risks in their artwork.
