Year 6 WW1 Workshop

Year 6 attended a workshop this week at Folkestone Museum which focussed on different people involved in WW1. These people ranged from footballers, refugees and nurses.

The session started with some information on WW1 and how Folkestone Harbour was an important place for soldiers. The children were then given mystery boxes with different characters' story in each. They had a sheet to read and some mystery artefacts and costumes to look at. As you can see from the pictures, they had lots of fun trying the costumes on! The children were amazed at the different types of people who were involved in WW1.

It was a wonderful way to spend the morning and the children gained lots of extra knowledge.
